About Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a special branch of dentistry that involves
straightening teeth and altering bone growth
for proper jaw alignment. Orthodontic treatment provides greatly improved aesthetics and optimum chewing.
-
Orthodontic
treatment helps provide an attractive smile and improve self-esteem.
Self-confidence is projected through your smile, so the
significance of an attractive smile cannot be
overstated. Like many others, you will see your child's self-esteem
increasing during orthodontic treatment.
-
Orthodontic
treatment also helps to provide long-term health of teeth, gums and
supporting bone.
Well-aligned teeth are easier to keep clean, since they
will not trap food particles that lead to tooth decay
and well aligned teeth will not wear down as easily. Since
a correct bite reduces stress on supporting bone and gum tissues, there is
less chance of tooth loss due to gum disease or bone loss.
When Should Orthodontic Treatment Begin?
Since every case is different, there is no one answer to this question.
Dr. Cringoli prefers to see his patients at an early age, usually around 7 years
old or sooner. By seeing patients early, we can better
predict
the need and timing of future treatment. Many orthodontic problems can be
greatly improved by early treatment. If no early treatment is indicated,
your child will be placed on no-charge recall visits and
will be seen every 4-6 months. By doing this, we can be sure that no
additional problems will develop. While waiting for orthodontic treatment,
we will start regular treatment when most of the permanent teeth erupt.
Option I: An interest-free installment plan may be arranged directly with
our office. The installments will be spread over the patient's active
treatment time. This is the most common plan.
Option II: A modest interest installment plan may be arranged with a third
party financial institution. We will assist you if you select this option.
This option offers a very long payment time, up to 60 months, with no down
payment.
Option III: A one-payment
plan due at the beginning of treatment. If you elect this
option, you will receive a 10% discount off of your treatment fee.
Additionally, we accept most insurance plans.
** For your convenience, we also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
